MALVAS FLOR AND ROOBIOS | 2014

This work was created at a stipend funded art residency at Can Serrat, Spain. It was created using Malvas Flor and Roobios tea that I found at a grocery store in El Bruc. The tea created vibrant colours, however the tea did loose its vibrancy quite quickly but the patterns where still interesting. It was subsequently enhanced with shellac, oil paints and inks to become the work that it is today.

Medium | Malvas Flor and Roobios tea, acrylic, shellac, on paper

Dimensions | 53Wx18H cm 0.2mm depth (White frame- 73x40cm)

Weight | 2.2 kilos including frame

WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY | 2015

This work was created whilst exploring my Indigenous heritage. After uncovering geneology tests from my Great Grandfather, it was revealed that he was actually from Kyogle (Bundjalung) not from Wiradjuri country as first believed by our family. This is a work of exploration and belonging. It contains plant dyes from the local area and has little flaps like windows that can be uncovered to releveal hidden secrets.
