I'M HAVING FISH TONIGHT | 2019
This work was created after encountering embossing foil for the first time. Hundreds of similar shapes were cut out of charcoal and shellac drawings as well as the embossing foil, and strips were stitched together. My husband cooked me fish for dinner on the night this work was finally finished. He commented on how is reminded him of the story ‘The Rainbow Fish’ by Marcus Pfister.
Medium | Acrylic, shellac, charcoal, metal, and cotton on paper
Dimensions | 100Wx56H unframed
Weight | 0.45 kilos

IN THE DEPTHS | 2019
Plant dyes in this work came from Silver Dollar Eucalypt tree leaves found on the side of the road in Armidale NSW. Long strips of paper were wrapped around the dye pot with the leaves pressed between the layers. The work was further enhanced by text in ink retelling our adventures in New England on our mini break- In the depths of the High Country.
Medium | Plant dyes, acrylic, oil, ink, shellac, and cotton on paper
Dimensions | 90Hx98W unframed

OH NO! MUMMY PUT TOO MANY BUBBLES IN THE BATH AGAIN! | 2019
This work began as purple carrots on paper, soaked in vinegar, covered in foil and placed in the sun for a fortnight. The paper was then torn into small pieces and individually stitched onto a large sheet of paper. The carrot stains were enhanced further with PVA glue for dimension and inks for detailing. It is inspired by the nightly bath time routine with my toddler. I am always putting too many bubbles in and over flowing the bath.
Medium | Plant dyes, acrylic, oil, PVA, shellac and cotton on paper
Dimensions | 95Wx59H (Frame- 116x80cm)
Weight | 6.4 kilos including frame

FROM UNDER THE KITCHEN SINK | 2019
After a clean out of under the kitchen sink, I had an enormous amount of plastic shopping bags that I needed to do something with. With much debate raging at the time with grocery stores going plastic bag free, these old grey bags needed to be recycled in some way. I started by melting many layers together under an iron to create shapes. Plastic was then stitched to paper and attached to foam core so the shapes would cast shadows on the back plate. Sections were then painted to highlight the shadows.
Medium | Plastic, acrylic, cotton on paper
Dimensions | Approx. 100W x65 H (Frame- 120x80cm)
Weight | 7.2 kilos including frame

THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TRACKS | 2019
This work started out as a series of drawings that I created while on an artist’s residency in Spain in 2015. The drawings were of my studio space, created in ink and dipped in wax. I dug out a couple of these drawings at the start of this year (2019), cut them up, added and stitched them onto another piece of paper.
This is an unframed work on paper.
Medium | Acrylic, oil, wax and cotton on paper
Dimensions | 40Wx70H cm
Weight | 0.5 kilos
